TV Station Spotlights Fantasy Football Acumen of DePauw Senior
September 17, 2015
"A DePauw senior is pulling off a huge win when it comes to fantasy sports," reports Indianapolis Fox affiliate WXIN. The television station tonight aired a story on Bryce Mauro, who spends spare time outside of the classroom and campus activities earning cash on fantasy football sites. His winnings have amounted to six figures a year.
"When you’re doing this, I have to analyze 15 teams every player on every team, every situation," he tells the station. "There are price considerations to take into account and roster requirements. It’s a far more complex problem than just picking a side to win or picking a point spread is making six figures and has been for a few years with his fantasy teams."
There are good weeks, and others that aren't as lucrative, Mauro says. "So it's like an optimization problem I would have in economics class where you're trying to maximize your score."
The segment, which was recorded at the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house on campus, is available below. A story is also posted at the Indianapolis Star's website.
