Indiana Jaycees Honor Zoology Prof. Charles Mays

May 2, 1973, Greencastle, Ind. - "Charles E. Mays, assistant professor of zoology at DePauw University, was among several individuals honored by the Indiana Jaycees at their annual 'Five Outstanding Young Men, Three Outstanding Young Educators' Banquet," reports today's Banner-Graphic. The Greencastle newspaper adds, "The banquet was held on the campus of Notre Dame University in South Bend with Jaycees from throughout the state in attendance. The program is designed to recognize and honor young men and women of Jaycee age who have made outstanding contributions to their profession, their community, their state and nation."
A member of the DePauw faculty since 1968, Mays previously served as a teaching assistant at the University of Nebraska and at Arizona State University.
"He completed work for a B.S. degree and a M.S. degree at the University of Nebraska. He has a Ph.D. degree in Zoology from Arizona State University. He is a member and local officer of the Greencastle Jaycees, member of the Masonic Lodge, and an active participant and Jaycee liason for Greencastle Recycling ofWastes (GROW) which is currently involved in a community glass recycling project."
