Greencastle Mayor Bill Dory Discusses Relationship with DePauw in Radio Interview
March 17, 2016
"The former DePauw School of Music Dean Mark McCoy is now the new president of the university," Joe Hren of Bloomington, Indiana NPR affiliate WFIU notes. In the station's "As the Mayor" segment, Hren asks Greencastle's Bill Dory, "Have you had a chance to talk to him about both of your visions on how the university and city should work together?"
Mayor Dory (pictured at top right), who took office three months ago, responds, "I had the pleasure of working with him on several projects including our America’s Best Communities work that was done over the past couple of years. Worked with him on some downtown issues as well. One of the first things I did was set up a regular meeting with the vice president of finance at DePauw (Brad Kelsheimer) so we’re meeting now twice a month to share information and talk about potential projects that we might partner on."

D. Mark McCoy was named DePauw's twentieth president last week and assumes the leadership post on July 1. As he was welcomed at a reception on March 8, Dr. McCoy stated, "I look forward to joining, continuing and expanding the good work of so many as we continue to make Putnam County a great place to live, DePauw a great place to learn and to work, and our community and the work we do within it a place of which we are all proud."
