September 23, 2016

New editions of two books by David M. Newman, Lester M. Jones Professor of Sociology at DePauw University, have been published.

The fifth edition of Sociology: Exploring the Architecture of Everyday Life, Brief Edition,"continues to show students how to see the “unfamiliar in the familiar,” inspiring them to think critically about their own lives and social contexts," notes Sage Publishing.

The third edition of Identities and Inequalities: Exploring the Intersections of Race, Class, Gender, & Sexuality, published by McGraw-Hill, "brings to light the importance of studying the intersections of race, class, gender, and sexuality. It also examines these intersections as both elements of personal identity and sources of social inequality. This new edition brings into conversation a multitude of current events, from police violence and global public health crises, to the legalization of same-sex marriage."
