Editor of The American Conservative, Daniel McCarthy, Here for Two Oct. 6 Events

Daniel McCarthy, editor of The American Conservative, will visit DePauw University next Thursday, October, 6 for two public events.
At 11:40 a.m., McCarthy will participate in a lunch discussion panel with Miranda Spivack, Eugene S. Pulliam Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism, and Stuart Yoak, Robert and Carolyn Frederick Distinguished Visiting Professor of Ethics. The session, "The Ethics of Voting," will take place in the auditorium of DePauw's Richard E. Peeler Art Center.
At 7 p.m., McCarthy will discuss "What a Post-Trump America Means for Conservatism/Republicanism" in a speech at Thompson Recital Hall, located within the Green Center for the Performing Arts.
Both events, which are free and open to all, are presented by the Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics.
McCarthy's writing has appeared in a wide variety of other publications, including The Spectator, Reason, and Orion. He served as internet communications coordinator of the Ron Paul 2008 presidential campaign and senior editor of ISI Books. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he studied classics.
The American Conservative is published by the American Ideas Institute, which bills itself as "a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose mission is to educate and inform Americans about the need for fiscal responsibility, a prudent foreign policy, and the protection of civil liberties."
