Bob Leonard to Serve as Interim VP for Finance and Administration

Bob Leonard, who has more than 30 years of diverse business experience including strategy, business development, finance and operations, will serve as DePauw University's interim vice president for finance and administration, effective June 1. 

Leonard will join the DePauw administration as Brad Kelsheimer, senior vice president for finance and administration since July 2009, leaves to become chief financial officer of Lumina Foundation, which was announced May 10.

"I am very pleased to welcome Bob to our team and know that he will continue the great work that Brad has done," said DePauw President D. Mark McCoy. "Bob has a great track record of leadership and oversight and we're fortunate to have someone of his caliber step into this role."

Renee Madison '95, senior advisor to the president for diversity and compliance and Title IX coordinator at DePauw, will be tasked with oversight of human resources at DePauw, which was previously done by the vice president for finance and administration.

"We want DePauw to be a great place to live, learn, and work, and this change makes perfect sense given the terrific work Renee has done in her work on campus climate and related issues," said Dr. McCoy. 

Added Madison, "At DePauw, our greatest strength is in our people, and I am looking forward to working with the Office of Human Resources to be of service to our campus community as well as examine new ways to enhance our culture."

Bob Leonard has served as a partner with the big four accounting firm KPMG and held executive positions (president, COO, CFO) with At-A-Glance Consumer Products, a leading publisher of pictorial calendars and posters. He has also held executive management positions with two entrepreneurial, web-based, start-up companies (one which he co-founded), and most recently served as a consultant to both C-suite executives and entrepreneurs.

Leonard holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University and has been previously certified (no longer practicing) as a public accountant and personal financial specialist.
