National Swimming Champion Sam McManus '18 Highlighted in Cincinnati Enquirer

"Four swimmers from Cincinnati-area high schools became national champions last week at the NCAA Div. III championships at IU Natatorium in Indianapolis," reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. The newspaper notes, "Sam McManus of DePauw University, a 2014 Mariemont High School graduate, won a national title in the men's 200 breaststroke."

A history major, McManus became just the fifth student-athlete in DePauw history to earn an individual national championship on March 24. DePauw's previous national champions include Alan Hill (men's track and field/pole vault, 1981), Midi Smyth (women's swimming and diving/100 backstroke, 1985), Colin Smith (men's track and field/discus, 1998), and Liz Bondi (women's tennis/singles, 2007).
