September 23, 2018
Susan Mathew, a 1981 graduate of DePauw University, has joined Teen Lifeline as a development officer. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, the nonprofit provides "a safe, confidential, and crucial crisis service where teens help teens make healthy decisions together."
In her new role, "Mathew oversees the resource development that supports Teen Lifeline’s programs, including its peer-to-peer crisis hotline and suicide prevention education for youth, educators, and parents," notes the Phoenix Business Journal. "As an attorney, she worked with clients to incorporate charitable giving into their estate plans. Now she uses her legal advocacy skills to engage potential investors with Teen Lifeline’s mission: to strengthen resiliency in youth and foster supportive communities to prevent teen suicide."
A communication major at DePauw, Susan Turner Mathew earned a J.D. from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. She practiced law -- for the Internal Revenue Service and in private practice -- and has served as assistant director of development for the Arizona State University College of Law.
