Basic Life
DePauw University’s Group Life Insurance is a term life insurance benefit. In the event of death, benefits are payable to the designated beneficiary. Group Life Insurance is underwritten by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada.
Benefits eligible employees are automatically enrolled in Basic Life Insurance in the amount of two (2) times base annual salary up to $450,000. Coverage takes effect on the date of hire and is provided at no cost to the employee; premiums are paid by DePauw University.
Additional coverage for the employee and dependents may be purchased through the voluntary Supplemental Group Life Insurance benefit. For information on the Retiree life insurance benefit visit the Retiree Benefits web page.
