Managing Hourly Employee Payroll

As a manager of an hourly employee you will need to approve timecards and manage absence requests in Workday.  Please visit the Workday website to see Support Guides that will provide instructions for the processes in Workday.

Timecards:

Employee timecards are due to supervisors by 10:00 A.M. on the Mondays that payroll processes.  After 10:00 A.M. only Manaagers or Timekeepers can add hours or make changes. Managers are to have timecards approved by 12:00 P.M.  These deadlines are critical for the timely processing of the hourly payroll.  See Payroll Schedules for specific dates.

What is a Timekeeper?  A person designated by a Manager to assist with timecards.  Both the Manager and the Timekeeper will receive related tasks.  Once one of roles completes the task, the task will be resolved for both roles.

Absence Requests:

All employee absences should be requested, tracked and approved in Workday.  Employees can request vacation and personal time, record sick time and other time off categories via the "Request Absence" or "Enter Time" tasks in Workday.  Visit the Support Guides for detailed information.
