Driver's Safety
Becoming a certified student driver
Successful completion of the Driver's Safety Program is a REQUIREMENT of any student who drives a vehicle for University-related purposes. This is also true for vehicles obtained from the University Service Center, rental vehicles for University purposes, driving for University departments, etc.
Faculty or Staff personnel that wish to have a student certified to drive a University owned vehicle should arrange with the students to complete the requirements by contacting the University Service Center at 765-658-4907.
Due to the University's insurance requirements, Driver's Certification is only available to students age 18 or older. Students driving a university owned 12-passenger van must be 21 years of age or older. Please see the University's Transportation and Vehicle Use Policy for additional information. Major violations will prohibit a person from becoming certified to drive University owned vehicles.
