NAME AND GENDER CHANGES PROCESS
Students interested in changing their name and/or gender with the University can do so regardless of the legal status of their name and gender. Students can file for a name and/or gender change by meeting with any one of the following campus administrators:
- Associate Dean of Student Success & Director of Women’s Center: Sarah Ryan
- Associate Dean of Student Success: Jeannette Johnson-Licon

GENDER INCLUSIVE RESTROOMS
RAINBOW COMMUNITY
The mission of the Rainbow community is to provide housing for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning students, as well as their allies. The restrooms will be gender-inclusive. As a resident or guest of the community, you are expected to be respectful and sensitive to all identities within the LGBTQ+ community.
Learning Outcomes
By living together on the Rainbow Floor, residents will become self-aware and empowered students who foster inclusion at DePauw and thrive together. The following learning outcomes will be achieved:

By living and learning together, members will cultivate a strong sense of self, community, and connection among LGBTQ+, gender expansive, and allied students.

Context and Knowledge
Members will gain a greater understanding of LGBTQ+ identities and cultures related to historical and contemporary experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, aromantic, and gender-expansive individuals.

Inclusion And Belonging
A strong sense of belonging will be fostered by members taking care of one another, accepting others, making meaningful connections with each other, building an affinity towards the hall/university, and being the best version of themselves.
STUDENT ORGANIZATION(S)
House of Opulence A safe community built through radical inclusivity + education. The goal of the House of Opulence is to cultivate a safe and respectful community, addressing the unique issues impacting the queer, LGBTQIA+, and trans community on DePauw University’s campus by creating a surrogate-family structure that promises radical acceptance. Our mission is to involve and educate the members of DePauw University on the intersectionality of queerness and being a student of color. |

The Bennett Library in the CDI has a collection of Queer Literature. All other books and DVDs are available to be checked out at the University Library.

If you have legally changed your first name and would like your official academic records updated (diploma/transcript) please complete the Alumni Name Change Form.
