CARE Team
Living in community means we care about the people around us and have the obligation to look out for one another.
It is common for students to face a variety of challenges - academic, personal, spiritual, and emotional - during their time on campus. The CARE (Concern, Assessment, Response, Evaluation) Team assists students directly and helps the DePauw community as they support students who may be facing difficult situations, working through an unusually hard time, or whose behavior may be of concern to others.
Mission Statement
The CARE Team provides coordinated assistance to students who are exhibiting concerning behaviors that disrupt their academic and/or social wellbeing at DePauw.
What Does the CARE Team Do?
The CARE Team seeks to be proactive rather than reactive in helping students we are concerned about. To do this we use the information gathered from personal contact with students, faculty, staff and family members to connect distressed students to support services.
Urgent and time-sensitive concerns should be reported to the Office of Student Affairs at 765-658-4270. Emergencies should be reported to Public Safety at 765-658-5555 or to 911. Please do not delay in seeking assistance.
Who Is On The Team?
The CARE Team is a multidisciplinary campus committee that includes representatives from key offices across campus that interact with and support students.
